Great launch Chris! Though does endless life count as a brewery visit? Also a “throwback” pic in each edition may be cool. Doesn’t need to be from the same weeks necessarily, could just be a place you've thought about recently from your many years of travels, or a person you encountered etc.

Thanks! As far as the Brewery of the Week feature goes, that's precisely my plan! And no, Endless Life doesn't count as a brewery visit, and you'll see it wasn't included in my 2021 count. In my completely made-up criteria, I have to enter the space to purchase or consume a beverage made on-premise for a brewery to count. Curbside pickup doesn't even count!

Ah I figured it was something like that! I know you have your methodology down pat (which is important to make up! the Brew York standard 👍). And sorry if I misconstrued the Brewery of the Week - I figured that would just be a brewery you visited that week, sounds good! Hope you enjoy doing it. I mean the substack. I know you enjoy the breweries 🍻

Nice first installment Chris! Cool to hear about Endless Life hope to visit when things warm up. Asheville is so much fun I usually stay at the Aloft downtown walking distance to so many breweries.

The Richmond VA brewery scene is worth a write up next time your on the road.

Look forward to reading future articles

Chris, great stuff! Since you were on the road for 2+ weeks you might want to check out a place closer to home and a brewer I was dying to try before I moved, Run and Hide Brewery up in Port Chester. And while you’re there, check out Wolf & Warrior in WP. You can skip Decadent unless you like a steady diet of super sweet 11%ers...

good stuff/start! here's a few thoughts/comments/questions:

• thanks for the heads up on Endless Life! right around my neck of the woods (when i'm actually in BK)

• enjoyed the roadtrip recap. as an avid traveler myself and always looking to add brewery visits to my itinerary wherever i venture to, i am definitely looking forward to this part of your newsletters

• i know you keep track of your brewery visits via Excel, but do you use any beer rating apps to keep track of the beers you've consumed on your visits? if so, which app(s)? and do you rate them as well? curious if you set any criteria for yourself as to when you can "officially" rate a beer, like food critics, ie. must have the beer at least twice or something like that?
